Wow, just to show how much inflation has hit in the last six years, those parts went from $38 to $63
Will this work on 1999 Econoline 5.4 v8?
Should
@@Blktpcrzrs Hey thanks for reply, it worked, but I did have to buy little longer belt. E-350.
It would have been easier to do in a press
And if that were an option, you might be right.
Going to try this! Thanks
Do not get a 79.5 in belt get a 80.5 and put the belt on then pulley Your welcome
I Have a 2003 f150 with the 5.4 and after replacing the ac clutch and still haveing noise coming from the compressor i was done trying to fix it and just wanted to bypass it. This worked perfectly and was far easier then haveing to discharge the system and remove the compressor to install a bypass pully. The parts fit perfectly and I had the job done in 15 minutes. Thanks for making such a clear video with the exact part number needed.
Stupid background music
Thanks for helping the algorithm
@Blktpcrzrs you're welcome for the tip 😉
@@jhnsls978 watch our newer stuff
I did this on my 2000 f150 5.4l 7700. The 6 rib 79.5in belt ended up failing within a few weeks for me. I ended up going with a 8 rib belt and a heavier duty pulley from gates it’s a much better fit you don’t have to worry where it sits on the grooves as much and seems a lot more solid GATES K080797 MICRO-V BELT it has an effective length of 79.62in GATES 38053 pulley
I had to do this and I couldn’t find specifics so here is my parts list Ford E-350 super duty (econoline) 2002 5.4 L V-8 Triton AutoZone for pulley was 231051 Oreily for belt was a 806K6 AutoZone was able to actually pull this up “without AC” and give me the correct pulley info not the belt tho. Oddly Oreily was able to pull up this “without AC” and give me the correct belt info but not the pulley… Napa was zero help And because I have to break at least one thing before finishing another the part number for the heavy duty universal battery terminal that I had to replace is 08502 also from Oreily… Now any suggestions on a solid choice on rear metal brake line?…..
I did this on my f150 now I'm doing this on my f250 😂 thanks for the video.
sexy stuff
Wonder if the 2.7 ecoboost would fit.
Not without more modding than the car will ever be worth.
Huge thanks to you man for the help, 6 years later and you saved me $1,500 on the shop quoting me for a new AC system just to have transportation lol. Can confirm this works for a 2003 Ford f150 with the 4.6 Liter (two wheel drive). For anyone who struggled like me, I would check out how to replace a serpentine belt. I realized I didn't know how to put it back on normally so modifying the belt to be on top of the idler pulley vs the bottom still wouldn't work then. Should have watched this video on how to run the belt in the first place and that would have saved me time. ua-cam.com/video/zZNMZStCvAM/v-deo.htmlsi=znntae4FColtMFbW. I also struggled with the Serpentine Belt Tool Kit I rented from AutoZone because it kept popping off with being made of two pieces; a breaker bar would be better but with patience it's doable finding out the max I can pull it without it snapping off. I also had to tap the belt on with my wrench, once I got it almost on there by hand I tapped it the rest of the way. I wonder if letting the belt sit out in the sun would have helped the belt stretch more or maybe messing with it for a while helped. Also, in the serpentine belt video it recommends making sure your belt is lined up right. Once it's on there, check to make sure it's seated correctly and that the old lines of where the belt ran previously line up. You can adjust the tensioner again and move the belt as needed. Then try a small crank before fully starting it up to ensure it's on there right. So just don't give up right away if it's not a 10 minute job for a non mechanically inclined person. Embarrassed to say it took me a couple hours messing with it but well worth it. Some things you just have to play with it a while to get it.
Good job, but can't hear you because music is to LOUD.
Darned music.
Nice video but music to loud
Is there a need to disconnect power to the a/c system after the bypass?
No
Yes my 2003 ford sport trac
Hi a 1998 ford E250 5.4 will work it looks like the same motor.
You? Need to move that logo
Why?
So no go on the harbor freight Pittsburgh engine stands i take it lol. Guys asking $25 local...ill oass i guess. The watermark didn't bother me at all. Got the idea just wanted to see LS engine video on stand etc.
I avoid 3 wheeled stands lol
Watermark was super annoying.
You did the best with detail love it.
Thank you
My AC was on the outs for some time, so I just didn’t run it and rolled the windows down. Then the AC pulley locked up and shut my truck down altogether. It is not one of our main vehicles so we will function great with this bypass pulley solution. BTW - the 805K6 was to long and I needed the 795K6 for my 2003 F150 with the 5.4L engine. Thanks for the video and great comments!
All the same except the 5.4 is the worst engine of the tritons
I would disagree. They can be great engines with proper maintenance.
@@Blktpcrzrs discarding the crank detonation yea may e
Can't hear you over the music.. but I learned something lol
Check out our newer uploads, much better.
Used 805 belt squeals when accelerates but we put it on in the rain anybody have any ideas if nothing else I'll put on the 7905
There are many factors that go into belt length, so you may have to use a slightly shorter or longer belt for your specific vehicle
Tried it with the parts you suggested couldn't get the 795 on and 805 squeeze man@@Blktpcrzrs
Should I use an 805 belt did anybody do it and how did it work

Eivdence showing fuel rails not needing to be removed for the c-packs. Thank you.
Yes... they do NOT need to be removed...
Everyone saying the belt is too tight , part number for correct belt is 805k6.
Belt size can change due to alot of factors, aftermarket or replacement idler pullies, brand and alt pullies also. Also some tensioners don't have as much movement
CRINGEEEEEEEE🎉🎉🎉
👍
Any links for the lowering kit?
In it's current form it's just ebay lowering springs. I will be swapping to a full djm 4/4 lowering kit later this summer.
Thanks for posting. I have a transmission drive belt(on a 16-38HXL) that is hanging on by the outer belt casing. The blade drive belt is ok. So, I shouldn't have to remove the deck in order to replace the transmission belt??
There is a way to do it from the top, but it's a huge pain. I found this way to be the easiest and quickest way.
Does it matter they still do the job ?
Ofcourse it matters. A 6k pound truck, more brakes the better.
@@Blktpcrzrs thought you were complaining about the dust not the actual breaks

Electric cars with regenerative braking win.
No thanks. Electric isn't a long term solution.
@@Blktpcrzrs Million mile batteries are happening.
No they're not.
@@Blktpcrzrs The tech gets better everyday. And I haven't touched my brake pedal in over a year. One peddle driving is amazing.
@turdfurgason8476 the problem electric cars is the batteries themselves and what it takes to make them. Electric isn't the answer.
nah its fine older style pads do that my work trucks all have older pads and drums you are rubbing carbon or ceramic pads against steel its going to make dust.
Wrong. Made the mistake and did this on my Benz and the alcohol made faded the clear coat. Now i have alcohol spots. Use acetone on a towel instead
I appreciate your comment, but rubbing alcohol is not as harsh as acetone. I have been using this method for 20 years without any issues. And this is a very well documented process in the detailing community. Maybe your Benz had issues in the clear to begin with.
It looks awesome!
@rkneegordon6316 thank you 😊
Sweet ride! Well done sir!
Thank you very much!
If I use a 3.0 from a 96-99 Taurus, what additional problems would I have?
It won't work.
Hey papi what wheels are those?
Honestly can't remember. But 18's are the way to go on svt contours.
Hard to hear you with the shit music in back ground
That's news to me 😑
I am having hard time making my hand brake work again. Have changed both the calipers, all 3 cables and still, like your, rear right not working well. Bleeded the lines 3 times. I can still turn the wheel with my hand with the hand brake on. Have you finally solved your issue woth the brakes? Thanks for the video.
I sold the car last fall. My brake worked good enough to keep the car from rolling.
Car aounds great. What wheels are those. They fit the car so well
I can't remember. But they're 18x7.5 38 offset
Bro your a life saver. 2002 F150 FX4 5.4L. The part #'s where spot on for AutoZone. Tightest belt I ever put on but she runs smooth and quiet now bud. THANKS!!

I used an 805 k6 and it's squeaking like crazy should I switch the 795@@Blktpcrzrs
Ok I have an 2003 E-150 van with a 4.6 engine.. I used duralast part 231051 to replace idler pulley/ and the 805k6 duralast belt… thank you. I couldn’t have done it without this video.
